The question has been asked repeatedly since the first College Football Playoff rankings were released at the end of October: What if Alabama loses a game?

Whether the loss comes in the season finale to Auburn or in the SEC Championship Game against Georgia, several are arguing the Crimson Tide have done enough to earn a spot in one of the semi-final games, even with a blemish.

If Alabama was to lose and still get in, that would likely mean Michigan would be the one on the outside looking in.

FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt doesn’t agree with that assessment. He believes if the Wolverines win out — finishing with a 9-0 B1G record and a conference title — the selection committee would include Michigan over Alabama.

Klatt points to Michigan being the first team in college football to go 10-0 against conference opponents and the loss to Notre Dame coming in Week 1 as reasons behind the Wolverines’ inclusion.

Below is the full video of Klatt making the argument for Michigan over Alabama if both teams end the season with one loss.
