Nebraska began its 2018 season by going 0-6.
It was a complete disaster.
However, since then, the Cornhuskers went 3-1 in their last 4 games going into the contest against Michigan State Saturday. Now, we can make that 4-1.
Nebraska’s defense stood tall the entire game, holding Michigan State to just 6 points. Offensively, the Huskers scored only 9, but that proved to be enough.
Barret Pickering connected on 3 field goals all within the final 12 minutes of the game to secure the win. Quarterback Adrian Martinez threw for just 145 yards, but did not turn the ball over. He completed only 16-of-37 passes.
Michigan State QB Rocky Lombardi completed 15-of-41 passes.
After the game, Nebraska coach Scott Frost spoke with the media:
Frost said he's happy for the seniors, and for the Blackshirts; said he's never been a part of a game that he won with no touchdowns. "That was not a good day for offensive football," he said. #Huskers
