Les Miles did a fantastic job at LSU.
And, while most would agree with that, he still didn’t end up lasting with the Tigers. However, how many coaches do walk away at the perfect time they wish to? Not many.
Regardless, Miles went 114-34 while at LSU, proving that he indeed could coach. If he wanted to coach elsewhere, it was just a matter of time until some other program picked him up.
Now appears to be that time.
Miles’ name started appearing to be linked to the open job at Kansas, and according to Ross Dellenger of Sports Illustrated, that rumor is proving to be true:
It’s done: Les Miles will be announced today as the new #Kansas football coach, sources tell @SInow. He’s en route to Lawrence now.
The Hat’s back.

Again, nothing is set in stone quite yet, but if “The Mad Hatter” is indeed on his way to Kansas, then the only likely reasoning would be because he is the next head man in charge of the program. The Jayhawks have certainly struggled as of late, but getting the right coach can mean the world.
Just ask any current successful college football program.
