Leawood (KS) Blue Valley North athlete Amauri Pesek-Hickson committed to Michigan on Saturday while in Ann Arbor for a visit. He announced the news on his Twitter account:

Pesek-Hickson is a three-star prospect and the sixth-best overall recruit from Kansas, according to 247Sports. As a versatile player that lined up in the backfield and as a receiver, Pesek-Hickson totaled 1,539 yards with 20 touchdowns in 2018.

However, it’s likely the Wolverines will want to try him on the defensive side of the ball once he arrives on campus. Per Rivals:

“At 6-2, 215 pounds, Pesek-Hickson’s positional future at Michigan will be interesting to follow. He started off as a tall, lean wide receiver prospect early on in his high school career but then shelved the cleats to focus on basketball. As a senior, Hickson came back out for football and has played mostly running back. It seems like the coaches at Michigan may actually see him as a future linebacker or viper. He’s extremely well put together and explosive athletically giving him a wide array of skills on the football field.”

Michigan now owns the No. 9 recruiting class for 2019, which ranks No. 1 in the Big Ten.
