We’re heading into one of the most important weekends of the college football season.

Next week marks the end of the college football season, meaning teams have one last opportunity to add an impressive win to their resumé, clinch a bowl berth and or claim a division title. In Saturday’s matchup between Ohio State and Michigan, the East crown — as well as positioning for the College Football Playoff — is on the line.

FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt had some interesting thoughts on next week’s slate of games, including the clash between the Buckeyes and Wolverines. He believes both teams have some major issues to address before taking the field in Columbus.

Klatt thinks that Ohio State’s defense, and Michigan’s red zone offense, needs fixed prior to Saturday.

Ohio State’s defense had another underwhelming performance again this week, surrendering 51 points to Maryland. Despite trailing most of the way, the Buckeyes found a way to get the victory.

Michigan, on the other hand, had trouble finding the end zone once in scoring position. The Wolverines had eight trips to the red zone against Indiana, but settled for six field goals in a 31-20 win over the Hoosiers.

Both of those areas will be huge come Saturday.

Klatt talked about a number of other things in his tweets Sunday morning, but the most interesting might’ve been his view on UCF’s chances of reaching the College Football Playoff. A lot would need to go right, but he seems to believe there is a small chance.

Again, a lot would have to go right, but there’s a shot.

It’s some interesting insight headed into the final weekend of the regular season, and Klatt’s analysis will give college football fans something to argue about over the next several days.

The final Saturday should be really, really entertaining.
