Wilton Speight may have left Michigan to finish out his college football career with another university, but the ex-Wolverine gunslinger hasn’t forgotten about the people who helped him most throughout his career.
Recently, Speight posted a message to Instagram, thanking all of his former coaches, teammates and fans, both at Michigan and UCLA, for making his college football career a memorable one. In the photo, Speight is donning the maize and blue.
Speight spent his first four years at Michigan, making appearances in 23 games for the Wolverines. He started in 12 games in 2016 and four games in 2017. He was injured early in the season last fall, and played in just four games.
With so much depth at quarterback at UM, Speight opted to transfer from Michigan and play his final season at UCLA. He appeared in seven games for the Bruins, throwing for 1,527 yards and six touchdowns.
UCLA finished the season 3-9.
It’s pretty cool that Speight took time to thank everyone for their support throughout his college career. And even though he moved on from Michigan, Ann Arbor is still close to his heart.
