Rutgers is coming off one of the worst seasons in program history. There’s really just no nice way to put it.

The Scarlet Knights finished the 2018 campaign with a 1-11 record and finished without a single B1G win (0-9). While there was some progress made from the beginning of the season to the end — actually competing in four of the final five games — it was just an embarrassing year.

Don’t think the Music City Bowl didn’t notice.

On Thursday morning, the Music City Bowl sent out a message to SEC, ACC and B1G fans, asking them to participate in a Twitter challenge.

“If you want to see your team in Nashville next month, tweet at us with the school and use the hashtag #setyoursights!”

Someone, in an attempt to be funny, said he wanted to see the 1-11 Scarlet Knights play in the Music City Bowl in December.

Rather than ignore the tweet, the social media account decided to clap back. And, in doing so, hilariously trolled Rutgers. It only needed three letters to get the point across.

“LOL,” the account wrote.

Maybe some day Rutgers will find its way into bowl contention. And maybe it might just make the trip from Piscataway to New Jersey.

It just won’t be this year.
