No. 6 Ohio State has had quite the interesting season.

It started with the Buckeyes being without their head coach, Urban Meyer, for the first few games. The team won those games, in part thanks to Ryan Day, the team’s offensive coordinator, who stepped in for Meyer.

Then, Meyer came back and led the Buckeyes to an 11-1 final record and the team participating in the Big Ten Championship against Northwestern. However, people haven’t forgotten about the job that Day did.

Meyer has been experiencing headaches and rumors of him stepping down from the Ohio State job have been floating around throughout the season.

So, what’s next for Meyer and Day?

A report came out Friday that Ohio State is looking to not only keep Day, but give him a significant raise as well, with an unwritten expectation that he would be the Buckeyes’ next head coach.

Only time will tell, but where there is smoke, there’s almost always fire.
