Key Michigan starters out for Saturday

Michigan will be without two key pieces on Saturday.
Starting tailback De’Veon Smith and ace cornerback Channing Stribling did not make the trip to College Park for Saturday’s game against Maryland.
Smith limped off the field in last Saturday’s 31-0 victory against No. 22 BYU while Stribling’s injury was undisclosed. Stribling made a full return from a concussion he suffered earlier in the year, but nothing was reported about any recent injury.
The Wolverines will be without a critical piece of the improving rushing attack. Smith rattled off 125 yards and a score against BYU. He’s the team’s leading rusher with 331 yards on the season.
Ty Isaac and Drake Johnson figure to see a heavier workload on Saturday against a Maryland defense that struggled to stop anything in a 45-6 loss to West Virginia last week.
Jim Harbaugh will likely give an official diagnosis of both players following Saturday’s game.
