The 2018 season just about came to a close this past weekend.
All that remains are the bowl games and the College Football Playoff. While many teams will go bowling somewhere, only four get to participate in the playoff each season.
Ohio State, who finished with a 12-1 record and are Big Ten champions, possess a No. 6 ranking. The Buckeyes obviously missed out on the Top 4, but will still be headed to the Rose Bowl.
In the end, though, no B1G team will be in the playoff for the second straight season. What does Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany think about it?
He’s actually not too mad:
If Jim's not upset about it, then you can call of any imminent 8-team playoff push. https://t.co/SODSB54JDL

Stewart Mandel makes a point here — if a conference’s commissioner isn’t upset about his conference being left out of the playoff two straight years, then what’s the rush in extending the playoff? That’s the talk every year — playoff expansion.
But if commissioners of conferences are understanding about not being represented, what’s the big deal?
The fans, of course, have other ideas on that.
