There was a lot of disappointment in Columbus on Sunday afternoon. When the College Football Playoff selection committee gave the fourth and final spot to Oklahoma, not Ohio State, there was bound to be some unhappy folks.
One of those people unimpressed with the committee’s decision was Ohio State punter Drue Chrisman, who’s been one of the top players at his position all season long. And rather than bottle up his frustration, he took to social media to take a jab at the selection committee.
“I guess winning the best conference in the country just doesn’t mean anything anymore…interesting,” Chrisman posted on Twitter.

Ohio State had been behind the 8-ball since the 49-20 loss to Purdue. But with wins over Penn State, Michigan State, Michigan and Northwestern in the B1G Championship Game, the Buckeyes had a pretty strong case for one of the top four spots.
They’ll be headed to Pasadena instead to take on Washington in the Rose Bowl.
What might’ve been the bigger slap in the face, though, was that Georgia, who finished 11-2 and lost in the SEC Championship, finished No. 5 in the rankings, one spot ahead of Ohio State. It’s pretty clear the Buckeyes were graded under a stricter guideline.
Chrisman got his shot in, though. And nobody can blame him for his frustration.
