Jim Harbaugh has concluded his fourth regular season as Michigan’s head coach. We’re about to enter the fourth year the speculation about him returning to the NFL has surfaced.
On Wednesday, Cris Carter made a remark about Harbaugh potentially pursuing a return to the NFL. During an episode of FS1’s First Things First, Carter said that Harbaugh might be interested in the openings in Green Bay and Cleveland.
Carter said that he had “sources” telling him that Harbaugh’s ears are open to a potential return to the professional ranks.
“I’m just gonna tell you guys a name,” Carter said. “Watch out for Jim Harbaugh, because Jim Harbaugh, potentially, is trying to get his way out of Michigan. I’ve got good sources that are telling me, not only Green Bay, but also watch out for the Cleveland Browns. He likes the quarterback situation there. And, I believe there are front office people in Green Bay who are enamored with Jim Harbaugh and are potentially trying to get him to come to Green Bay.”
In the past, Harbaugh has denied any rumors of wanting to make his way back to the NFL. His name has circulated with the Oakland Raiders, Los Angeles Rams and Indianapolis Colts in recent years.
Harbaugh returning to the NFL wouldn’t necessarily be a huge surprise, but it’s the same story we’ve had every year. So far, there’s not been much truth to any of the rumors.
