For the past two seasons, Paul Chryst has had the pleasure of coaching one of the best running backs in college football.

On Thursday night, Jonathan Taylor was named the Doak Walker Award winner, presented to the top running back in the sport. The Wisconsin running back rushed for 1,989 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, leading the country in yardage.

In two seasons with the Badgers, Taylor has galloped for 3,966 yards and 28 touchdowns. He needs 11 yards in the Pinstripe Bowl to hit the 2,000-yard plateau for the season. The sophomore needs 34 yards to hit 4,000 yards through his first two seasons, something only four previous running backs have accomplished.

After winning the prestigious award, Wisconsin head coach Paul Chryst talked about Taylor’s success on the field and what it’s been like to coach the college footballs tar for the last two seasons.
