An Iowa Hawkeye is up for the most prestigious award in college football.
Sam Brincks is one of five finalists for the Piesman Trophy. OK, so maybe it’s not the most prestigious award in the sport, but it’s a pretty cool honor nonetheless.

The Piesman Trophy is handed out by SB Nation and it’s an award presented to a lineman who does “un-lineman things.” Basically, if a lineman is catching a pass, rips off a big run or launches a pass down the field, his name will be in the running for the award.
How did Brincks earn a spot as a finalist? It’s because of a trick play Iowa ran in its matchup against Penn State in October. Brincks laid out and hauled in a touchdown catch for the Hawkeyes.

Iowa may not have a Heisman candidate this year, but bringing the Piesman Trophy to Iowa City would be pretty fitting.
A winner will be announced on Monday.
