There are a lot of nerves tied to the Heisman Trophy. For the three finalists who earned an invitation to New York City for Saturday night’s presentation, it’s a lot of waiting.

Not knowing whether you’ll be named the best college football player of the season would give anyone butterflies. But Tua Tagovailoa, Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins were all forced to deal with that feeling all day.

Prior to the announcement, the three candidates were asked how the nerves of the evening compare to playing their respective rival opponent. Haskins said there’s no comparison.

“I feel that’s bigger than anything else in college football,” Haskins said of playing Michigan, according to Bill Rabinowitz of the Columbus Dispatch.

Playing in “The Game” is big every single season, but carried enormous significance this year. Thanks to the 62-39 win over Michigan, the Buckeyes earned a spot in the B1G Championship Game.

The Heisman Trophy is the most recognizable award in all of sports. And Haskins says it doesn’t compare to the feeling he had playing Michigan.

Haskins continues to demonstrate why he’s the ultimate team guy.
