Ohio State DC Greg Schiano reportedly interested in head coaching vacancy

Greg Schiano has plenty of experience as a head coach, and it is being reported that he has interest in one head coaching vacancy in college football.
According to Marc Narducci with Philly.com, a source has reported that Schiano has interest in pursuing the open head coaching position at Temple. Geoff Collins left the position with the Owls to take over the same position at Georgia Tech.
Narducci reported Alabama assistant Josh Gattis also has interest in the vacancy:
A non-Temple source familiar with the situation said that Ohio State associate head coach/defensive coordinator Greg Schiano and Alabama co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Josh Gattis have expressed interest in the Owls job…A second source also said that Schiano has expressed interest, but he wasn’t aware of Gattis interest.
Schiano has been at Ohio State since 2016. He was previously a head coach at Rutgers and in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Schiano was reportedly set to take over the Tennessee job last year before outcry to the reported hiring led to him staying at Ohio State.
Ohio State’s defense allowed 15.5 points a game in 2016 and 19.0 points a game in 2017. Unfortunately, the unit regressed and allowed 25.7 points a game in 2018, allowing 30 or more points five times. Still, Schiano has experience and seems likely to get another shot as a head coach somewhere.
