Chase Winovich is one of the toughest guys in college football. The Michigan defensive lineman has played in every game since 2016 and has become one of the most talented players at his position.

So when Winovich went down in Michigan’s game against Indiana, we were all a little surprised to see him walk back to the locker room. Even more surprising was that he didn’t return to the field.

Despite the injury, Winovich was able to play the following week against Ohio State and finish off the final regular season game of his collegiate career.

But over the weekend, Winovich explained why he was so frustrated that he had to leave the Indiana game early. And it had nothing to do with anything on the field or against the opponent.

“When I got hurt against Indiana, I was pretty upset,” Winovich said. “Obviously it was my Senior Day, it was a big day, but I was really upset because, my whole career here going back to high school [my grandmother] has been giving me five dollars. I never got to get that five dollars because I didn’t make it through the game uninjured. Hopefully I can earn it back in the years to come.”

Hey, five bucks is five bucks. Especially for a college kid.
