New head coach Mike Locksley is ready to bring a clean slate to Maryland football.

The Terrapins are moving on under Locksley after hiring him away from Nick Saban’s staff at Alabama. Locksley has spent the last three seasons at Alabama after his last stay at Maryland, but he has now returned to lead the program.

In a radio appearance Tuesday morning, Locksley addressed being able to start fresh with the Terrapins. According to Locksley, he is focused on hitting the reset button moving forward:

“Not that we forget what happened in the past, and we’ll continue to honor the legacy of Jordan McNair,” explained Locksley, “But for me moving forward, anything that’s happened here in the past – we hit the reset button.

“I don’t have a depth chart. I don’t know how many classes you missed last semester, and to be honest I really don’t care. I’m going to judge you and I’m going to make decisions based on what you do from the day I was hired moving forward.”
