Ohio State defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones will play in Ohio State’s Rose Bowl game against Washington on Jan. 1, but it will be his final game as a Buckeye.

Wednesday, Jones met with reporters and said, contrary to information that has been spread, he does intend to suit up for Ohio State one final time. After it was revealed that the Buckeyes didn’t make the College Football Playoff and will play in the Rose Bowl, Jones was non-committal when asked whether or not he’d play in the game.

At the time, Jones answered “We’ll see.”

Jones had a tremendous season in Columbus, recording 13 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks in 13 games. He totaled 40 stops, as well.

The decision to leave Ohio State a season early is no surprise, as Jones is considered to be one of the top defensive linemen in college football. He was anticipated to leave Ohio State following the year.

Jones didn’t want to leave without playing in his final game, though. Buckeye fans will get one last chance to watch the star lineman.
