Kicker Michael Lantz (Starrs Mill HS / Fayetteville, GA) pledged his verbal commitment to Minnesota on Friday evening.

A top-15 kicker in the nation, Lantz is a three-star prospect and picked the Gophers over UL-Lafayette and Washington State. According to MaxPreps, he went 119-of-123 on PATs in 28 games played (including a perfect 45-for-45 his senior season), finishing 21-of-32 (70 percent) field goal attempts throughout his career with a long of 50 yards.

Lantz becomes the 23rd member of coach P.J. Fleck’s 2019 class, which ranks 34th nationally and 8th in the Big Ten.
