Two weeks still stand between fans and those coveted January 1 matchups. But it’s never too early to start making predictions.
One Vegas computer is projecting a major upset on New Year’s Day.
Washington and Ohio State will go head to head in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. And this year, it’s a traditional matchup in Pasadena, as the game features the Pac-12 champion and the B1G champion — a matchup that is no longer guaranteed with the implementation of the College Football Playoff.
Although fans from both sides would’ve like to be competing for the national title, playing in the Rose Bowl is an excellent consolation prize.
The Buckeyes are a touchdown favorite heading into the game, but the computers at Oddsshark are calling for the Huskies to pull off the upset. Here’s the projection for the Jan. 1 matchup:
That’s not the ideal way to end the Urban Meyer era.
Ohio State will be making its first Rose Bowl appearance since 2009. It will be the first time Meyer has ever coached in the historic game.
Predictions change, and with two weeks still left before the Buckeyes and Huskies square off, maybe the computers will shift back in favor of Ohio State.
