Rutgers head coach Chris Ash landed a pretty significant prospect on Wednesday, as running back Aaron Young will officially become a Scarlet Knight.

Young is a 3-star prospect out of Pennsylvania and was previously committed to Michigan State. The running back made his final decision on the first day of the Early Signing Period, though, choosing Rutgers over MSU.

It was a significant signature for Ash and Co.

Young is ranked as a top 40 running back in the 2019 class and is the No. 12 player out of Pennsylvania, according to 247Sports. In addition to Michigan State and Rutgers, Young had offers from North Carolina, Ole Miss and Penn State.

Rutgers is still a little behind the rest of the pack on the recruiting front, ranking in the low 60s nationally and 12th in the B1G. But Young is a player who could make an instant impact for the Scarlet Knights, a huge thing after a 1-11 season.

Young is one of 16 players to commit to Rutgers on Wednesday.
