IU basketball to keep media seat open for longtime sportswriter critically injured in accident
The people associated with Indiana basketball will be keeping a media seat open out of respect for a longtime sportswriter who was critically injured in a car accident earlier this week.
CNHI’s Terry Hutchens was critically injured in a three-car accident this week and was hospitalized for his injuries. According to a report from the News and Tribune, Hutchens is in critical condition.
Hutchens is a longtime sports writer in Indiana and has long covered Hoosiers athletics. After news of the accident was learned, there was an outpouring of support from several local media members, as well as members of IU’s athletic staff.
Wednesday night, Indiana hosts Central Arkansas in Assembly Hall. Out of respect for Hutchens, the Hoosiers will leave his media seat open.
I’m told @IndianaMBB will hold Terry Hutchens’ seat open tonight out of respect. Classy gesture of support from the university.
