Michigan TE Zach Gentry still weighing NFL decision

Michigan tight end Zach Gentry has a decision to make. But for the next few days, his primary focus is the Wolverines’ Peach Bowl matchup against Florida.
Speaking with reporters Thursday, Gentry said he’s still undecided about whether he’ll declare for the 2019 NFL Draft or if he’ll return to Ann Arbor for another season. The tight end did receive a grade from the advisory board, but he’s still torn about the decision.
“I’m not really worried about or concerned about it until after (the Peach Bowl)” Gentry said. “I just want to make sure that I put everything I have into the game for myself and for the team. And make sure both I and the team perform at the highest level I can.”

Gentry put up big numbers for the Wolverines this season, catching 30 passes for 475 yards and two touchdowns.
While Gentry’s draft evaluation will play a major role in his decision, quarterback Shea Patterson has already announced his return to Ann Arbor. Having such a quality passer under center — one that can find Gentry is the passing attack — could help the tight end improve his draft stock.
In two seasons, Gentry has 778 receiving yards and four touchdowns for Michigan.
Gentry’s performance in the Peach Bowl could also still influence his draft status. But right now, the tight end isn’t worried about any of that.
He’s focused on beating Florida.
