The benefits of playing in a bowl game exceed getting that additional contest at the end of the season. Teams also get the chance to take in some of the local sites and entertainment in various cities.
Iowa had the opportunity to explore Tampa, Florida on Saturday, just a few days before taking the field against Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl. The team took a trip to a local amusement park, making a visit to Busch Gardens.
Based on some photos, it appears the Hawkeyes were enjoying a few thrills. One photo in particular is making the rounds on social media.
A photo of Devonte Young, Brandon Smith, Ihmir Smith-Marsette and coach Derrick Foster enjoying the thrilling Falcon’s Fury ride. The 335-foot drop tower is one of the famous attractions at Busch Gardens.
A few seemed to be enjoying the ride while a few others appeared to be hanging on for dear life.

A few players might have experienced a new fear on the ride. That photo may haunt a few of those guys for a long time.
Iowa finished the season 8-4 and is hoping to get its second-straight bowl win. The Hawkeyes will take on Mississippi State in the Outback Bowl on Jan. 1.
