Like a lot of people on Saturday afternoon, Ohio State running back Mike Weber was unimpressed with the two College Football Playoff semifinal games.
First, Clemson posted a 30-3 win over Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl. Then, Alabama defeated Oklahoma 45-34 in the Orange Bowl, a game that appeared closer than it actually was. Overall, one of the biggest days of the college football season lacked excitement.
Near the end of the Orange Bowl, Weber couldn’t hide his discontent any longer. The Buckeye had to speak out, saying that things might be a little different if Ohio State and Georgia had earned spots into the College Football Playoff.
“The CFP would be a lot more interesting if us and Georgia was in,” Weber wrote on Twitter.

Would the games have actually been more interesting? Maybe, maybe not. But they certainly couldn’t have been much worse.
Until the very head, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Georgia battled for that fourth and final spot in the playoff field. The Sooners were given the nod after knocking off Texas in the Big XII title game, avenging an early-season loss to the Longhorns.
Ohio State and Georgia were left on the outside looking in.
The Buckeyes and Bulldogs will play on Jan. 1, with Ohio State taking on Washington in the Rose Bowl and Georgia battling Texas in the Sugar Bowl. Those two games are expected to be much more entertaining than what we saw on Saturday.
Weber wanted a shot at Clemson or Alabama but didn’t get it. After watching those two teams perform, it’s hard to imagine anyone would give either team a run for their money.
