The rise of Michigan continues.

The Wolverines, which cracked the Coaches Poll for the first time last week, moved up again after demolishing No. 13 Northwestern 38-0 on Saturday.

The Victors moved all the way up to No. 14 in the latest Coaches Poll, marking their highest ranking in over two years. Michigan was also the biggest riser of any team in the top 25.

Michigan impressed the voters after recording three straight shutouts for the first time in 35 years. The Wolverines defense, which currently is the top scoring defense in college football, hasn’t allowed an offense to score in its last 41 possessions.

With their continued rise, the Wolverines got another step closer to B1G East rivals Ohio State and Michigan State, which cracked the poll at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively.

Michigan is one of five B1G teams in the Week 7 poll. In addition to Michigan State and Ohio State, Iowa and the aforementioned Northwestern cracked the top 25, as well.

The Wolverines will have plenty of hype building for Saturday’s showdown against Michigan State in East Lansing. ESPN’s College GameDay will be on hand to take in the action.
