UCLA has decided to terminate head basketball coach Steve Alford, according to a report.
Seth Davis of The Athletic reported that UCLA athletic director Dan Guerrero has decided to fire Alford. He was in his sixth season with the Bruins.
UCLA is off to a 7-6 start this season, including losses to Belmont and Liberty. He was 124-63 as the head coach of the Bruins.

Alford was at his fourth stop at the Division I level. Prior to UCLA, Alford had stops at New Mexico, Iowa and Southwest Missouri State. Overall, this was his 24th season as a head coach.
Alford led his teams to 11 NCAA tournament appearances in those 24 years and accumulated a 587-263 record. Seven times his teams appeared in the NIT.
Before becoming a head coach, Alford was a prominent star at Indiana University under head coach Bob Knight. He was a two-time consensus All-American, a three-time All-B1G selection and a national champion. He was also the B1G Most Valuable Player in 1987.
