Longtime head coach Rich Rodriguez will be back on the sideline soon, this time in the SEC.

Monday, Ole Miss officially announced that Rodriguez would be joining Matt Luke’s staff as the offensive coordinator. He comes to Oxford after serving as a head coach at West Virginia, Michigan and Arizona.

Rodriguez was fired by Arizona following the 2017 season. This will be his first job in college football since his termination.

Rodriguez was the head coach at Arizona from 2012-2017, totaling a 43-35 record. He led the Wildcats to five bowl games in six seasons.

Prior to his time at Arizona, Rodriguez spent three seasons at Michigan but failed to get the Wolverines on track. He was the head coach in Ann Arbor from 2008-2010 but had a 15-22 record, leading the Wolverines to just one bowl game in that stretch. He was a paltry 6-18 in B1G games.

Rodriguez’s stint at West Virginia was, by far, his most successful. The Mountaineers’ high-powered offense put them on the college football map on an annual basis. In seven seasons at West Virginia (2001-2007), Rodriguez’s teams went 60-26, winning at least 10 games in each of his final three seasons.

The Mountaineers went bowling in six of those seven seasons.
