Just one day after losing to Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Day, Penn State is making a staff change.
According to Greg Pickel of PennLive.com, Penn State fired receivers coach David Corley after just one season with the program. He left Army to join the Nittany Lions’ staff prior to the start of the 2018 season.
“I appreciate David’s efforts this season but feel it is in our program’s best interest to make a change at this time. I wish him and his family nothing but the best in the future,” head coach James Franklin said in a statement.

James Franklin, if he was going to make other staff moves, probably would have made them together, which means it might be a safe bet that David Corley is the only staffer being let go.

Corley had three stops prior to arriving in Happy Valley. He was a member of the staff at William & Mary from 2008-2013, serving as the running backs and quarterbacks coach before taking over as wide receivers coach. He was then on Connecticut’s staff for three seasons, from 2014-2016.
Corley’s last two stops — Army and Penn State — have been one-year stints.
Penn State finished the season 9-4 after a 27-24 loss to Kentucky in the Citrus Bowl.
