Third Penn State player declares for NFL Draft

A third Penn State player has announced that he’ll pursue the NFL Draft, forgoing the rest of his college career.
Offensive lineman Ryan Bates announced Wednesday that he’ll be entering the 2019 NFL Draft, joining fellow lineman Connor McGovern and defensive end Shareef Miller. Bates made a statement regarding his decision.
“After much discussion with friends, family and coaches, I have made the decision to forgo my final year of eligibility and declare for the NFL Draft,” he wrote.

Bates started in 35 career games for the Nittany Lions, making appearances at left guard, left tackle and right tackle throughout his career. He blocked for two elite running backs in Saquon Barkley and Miles Sanders.
Thanks to Bates, Penn State had one of the most high-powered offenses each of the last three seasons.
