A flurry of Penn State players declared earlier this week that they’d be forgoing their final season in Happy Valley and headed to the NFL Draft. The Nittany Lions received some good news on Saturday, though.

Offensive lineman Steven Gonzalez announced on Saturday that he’ll be returning to State College for his senior year with the Nittany Lions. He made his statement public via Twitter.

“After long talks with family, friends and people who are close to me, I have finally decided to come back for my last year at Penn State,” Gonzalez said. “I want to leave it all out on the field for the blue and white in one last ride.”

Gonzalez provides a major boost for the Penn State offensive line after a rough week of departures. Fellow offensive linemen Ryan Bates and Connor McGovern announced earlier this week that they were headed to the NFL Draft.

Over the last two seasons, Gonzalez has started in all 26 of Penn State’s games. He also started in three games in 2016.

Also this week, Penn State defensive linemen Shareef Miller and Kevin Givens and running back Miles Sanders all declared for the Draft.
