Things didn’t quite end as favorably for the B1G as the league would’ve hoped. The conference didn’t reach the College Football Playoff for a second-straight year and finished 5-4 in bowl games.

Looking ahead to 2019, there’s a pretty positive outlook for the conference.

CBS Sports recently released its “way-too-early” top 25 and eight B1G teams have been listed, more than any other conference. Yes, that includes the mighty SEC.

Ohio State led the way at No. 6, the highest-ranked B1G team on in the top 25. Michigan was the only other conference team in the top 10, coming in at the No. 10 spot.

The biggest surprise on the list is Nebraska, who was ranked No. 18 after a 4-8 year in 2018. Minnesota also cracked the top 25 after a 7-6 campaign.

Here’s how CBS Sports ranked the B1G teams entering the offseason:

  • No. 6 Ohio State
  • No. 10 Michigan
  • No. 12 Penn State
  • No. 17 Wisconsin
  • No. 18 Nebraska
  • No. 20 Iowa
  • No. 23 Minnesota
  • No. 25 Northwestern
