ESPN’s Field Yates reported that Pat Perles — son of former Michigan State head coach George Perles — will join Michigan’s staff as an analyst and assistant offensive line coach. According to Yates, Perles is a well-regarded NFL coach and scout.
Perles’ last known coaching gig was in 2013, when he was the offensive line coach at Syracuse.

Perles has had multiple stops in his coaching career, including North Dakota State (2003-08), Michigan State (2000-02) and Toledo (1989-91). In the NFL, he’s coached with the Kansas City Chiefs (2011-13) and Los Angeles Rams (1992-93).
In 2014, Perles was hired by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a player-personnel scout.
Michigan also recently hired former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Nate Woody to be an analyst.
