The Michigan football team will be leaving the country in May, this time headed to South Africa in what has become an annual overseas excursion.

On Tuesday, Mark Taurisani, Michigan’s director of football operations, tweeted about the trip. Last year, the Wolverines visited France following the conclusion of its spring football schedule.

Michigan’s trip will come after the spring semester comes to an end.

The trip to South Africa will mark the third overseas venture Jim Harbaugh has taken his team on since arriving in Ann Arbor. In 2017, the team visited Italy. Last year, the Wolverines traveled to France.

Michigan held practices in Italy two years ago, but did not practice last year in France. Harbaugh will not have his team practicing in South Africa.

Earlier this week, Michigan also announced that it will be holding its annual spring game on Saturday, April 13.
