The last week has been pretty good for Matt Haarms.

Last Tuesday, the 7-foot-3 Purdue center lifted his team past arch rival Indiana in Assembly Hall with a game-winning tip-in with three seconds left in the game. On Saturday, he came up a rebound short of a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds in another Boilermakers victory.

Haarms’ major contributions continued on Wednesday night, when he posted his first career double-double, along with a ridiculous stat line in Purdue’s 73-56 win over Illinois.

When the final buzzer sounded in Mackey Arena, Haarms finished the day with 21 points, 10 rebounds, five blocks and no turnovers. He also registered one assist and committed just one foul in the victory.

Even more impressive: Haarms didn’t miss a single shot from the floor in his 31 minutes of action. He was 8-of-8 from the field, 4-of-4 from the free throw line and 1-of-1 from three-point range. That’s not something you see very often, if ever.

Haarms is averaging 8.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Boilermakers this season, but he’s been a much more consistent player for Matt Painter and Co. recently.

Purdue has now won four-straight games and is winners in 12 of its last 13 contests. At 14-3, the Boilers are tied with Michigan State atop the B1G standings.
