Miles Sanders is going to be happy to play for anyone who selects him in the 2019 NFL Draft. But, given the opportunity to choose, there is one team the former Penn State running back would love to play for.

The Pittsburgh Steelers.

While in Indianapolis preparing for the NFL Scouting Combine, Sanders took the podium to speak with the media about several topics. When asked which team he’d prefer to play for in the NFL, Sanders didn’t have much hesitation.

“I would love to play for Mike Tomlin,” Sanders said, according to TribLive.com. “I asked certain people on the Steelers staff how he is. They said he’s a cool dude, laid back. I know a lot of Pitt players who run into him at the facility. I’d be honored to play for the Steelers.”

Sanders is expected to be one of the top 10 running backs in the draft, but it’s unlikely the Steelers use a high draft pick to select a ball carrier. But, if he’s available in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft, Sanders could be a viable option for Pittsburgh.

As the primary running back for Penn State last year, Sanders rushed for 1,274 yards and nine touchdowns on 220 carries. With one year of eligibility remaining, he opted to leave State College and pursue a professional career.

Sanders leaves Penn State with 1,649 rushing yards and 13 total touchdowns. He also had 193 receiving yards in three seasons.
