Throughout his career at Michigan State, Felton Davis III often proved to be one of the better wide receivers in the B1G. And at the NFL Combine, he’s showing that he’s one of the strongest in the country.
Davis took part in the bench press at the combine on Friday, and threw the bar up 21 times, ranking in the top five among wide receivers. That total pegged him at No. 4 at his position group. He was topped by Arizona State’s N’Keal Harry and Ole Miss’ D.K. Metcalf, who each had 27 reps.
Baylor’s Jalen Hurd had 23, followed by Davis’ 21. West Virginia’s Gary Jennings rounded out the top five with 20 reps.

Davis’ 2018 season was cut short due to an injury. He appeared in seven games, making 31 receptions for 474 yards and four touchdowns. But it wasn’t just the numbers that were impressive about Davis, he also came up with key catches in big-time situations.
Against Utah State, he made two huge grabs down the stretch, helping the Spartans put together a game-winning drive. On the road against Penn State, Davis hauled in the game-winning touchdown pass.
Davis might be one of the more underrated receivers in this year’s draft, but he’s showing why he deserves a spot in the league.
