Former Iowa RB Damon Bullock killed in accident

Former Iowa running back Damon Bullock died early Sunday morning in a “terrible accident,” according to multiple reports.
According to KCRG out of Cedar Rapids, Bullock was struck by a car near his family’s home in Duncanville, Texas around 3 a.m. on Sunday. He reportedly hit a light pole on a median, causing street lights at the intersection to disconnect.
Bullock then parked the car and started to walk when he was struck by a vehicle. He was 25.
Bullock’s mother posted on Facebook about her son’s passing:
He definitely lived this way. He was a dreamer and a doer.
“Dream as if you’ll live forever. Live as if you’ll die tomorrow.”
With tears streaming down my face as I create this post I regretfully have to say that we lost our son Damon to a terrible accident this morning.
I will never be the same. I don’t know how or what to do. We appreciate every prayer, text, and phone call received. PLEASE PRAY FOR US! I don’t understand. You know OUR name Lord!! Please!!!
Iowa also issued a statement following the news of Bullock’s passing.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with Damon’s parents, Kimberly and Roscoe, and the entire family,” Kirk Ferentz said in a release. “Damon’s tragic and unexpected death is a shock to all of us within the Iowa football program, as well as his former teammates. Damon was an outstanding young man and we enjoyed him being a part of the Hawkeye football program.”
Bullock played at Iowa from 2011-14. In four seasons with the Hawkeyes, he rushed for 1,074 yards and four touchdowns. He also had 616 receiving yards in his career in Iowa City.
