Former Ohio State RB Carlos Hyde is looking for a new NFL home.
The Jacksonville Jaguars released Hyde Friday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Jaguars acquired Hyde by trade in 2018 from the Cleveland Browns.
Once in Jacksonville, Hyde rushed for just 189 yards in eight games.
The former Buckeyes standout has been in the NFL for five seasons, rushing for 3,300 yards on 827 carries for 26 TDs. The 49ers originally drafted Hyde in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
During his four-year career at Ohio State, Hyde rushed for 3,198 yards and 37 TDs. He became a first-team All Big Ten performer as a senior.
