After retiring from coaching after Ohio State’s trip to the Rose Bowl on January 1, Urban Meyer is reportedly headed back to the broadcast booth.
The New York Post reported on Monday that FOX has signed the former Ohio State head coach to join its college football pregame show aired on Saturday mornings. The show rivals ESPN’s College GameDay, which has become a staple of every college football fan’s agenda on Saturdays in the fall.
According to the report, FOX is also bringing former USC star and Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush to the team. Meyer and Bush would join Matt Leinart, Brady Quinn and Rob Stone for the pregame show.
From the New York Post:
FOX feels with Meyer, Bush, Leinart and Quinn, it has put together a similar team of college football legends and hopes they can develop a fun chemistry.
Meyer has had one prior run in the broadcast booth, working at ESPN in 2011, following his retirement from Florida and before taking over at Ohio State. He was responsible for providing color commentary during college football games throughout the season.
As a three-time national champion who coached at premier programs in the SEC and B1G, Meyer brings some of the best expertise and insight to a pregame show. Bush currently works for NFL Network.
