Salaries for Ohio State’s coaching staff for 2019 has been released, and the university will spend around $200,000 more for assistants than it did a year ago.
Ohio State released the figures for the 2019 coaching staff on Monday. Only one assistant will be making over $1 million this year, with defensive coordinator Greg Mattison earned a base salary of $1.1 million. That’s a pay bump from his time in Michigan when he was the defensive line coach.
Last year, Greg Schiano and Ryan Day each earned over $1 million as assistants on Urban Meyer’s staff.

In total, Ohio State will spend $7.245 million on its assistant coaches in 2019. Last year, the school spent $7.06 million.
Day will make $4.5 million for the 2019 season in his first year as head coach of the Buckeyes.
