Rashan Gary doesn’t lack any confidence. And at Michigan’s pro day on Friday, the All-B1G defensive end doubled down on his statement from the NFL Combine.

Gary “knows” he’s the best player available in the NFL Draft this year.

During the combine, Gary made the comment that he doesn’t “think” he’s the best player in the draft, he knows it. On Friday, he was asked a similar question regarding his draft status, and the former Wolverine didn’t back away from his statement.

“Yeah, I know I’m the best player in the draft, offensively and defensively,” Gary told reporters on Friday.

Gary didn’t participate in Michigan’s pro day, saying he did everything he needed to do at the combine. Instead, he attended to show support for his teammates.

Gary has been projected as a top 10 pick in this year’s NFL Draft, and some believe he could go as high as No. 2 because of his tremendous upside and incredible athleticism. He’ll be competing with guys like Nick Bosa, Kyler Murray and Dwayne Haskins to land in the top 10.

Though Gary knows he’s the best prospect this year, he’s not too concerned about where he’s selected. He’s more worried about fit than anything else.

“I just want to go to the perfect fit for me,” Gary said when asked if he’d be disappointed in if he fell outside of the top 10 picks. “A team that likes me for me and for what I can bring to the table. I just want the opportunity to play football.

“Like I said, whoever drafts me is getting a player that’s pushing to be great. When I say that, I mean Pro Bowls, Super Bowls, Hall of Fame. That’s the mindset that I have and I’m going to strive until I get it.”

Gary registered 24.5 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks in his three-year career with the Wolverines. Last year, he tallied 7.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks in nine games while Michigan finished the season 10-3.

At the NFL Combine, Gary said he still has plenty left in the tank and believes he has yet to play his best football.

“My best years of football are still to come. I’m still learning the game and I can’t wait.”
