Michigan State is keeping a talented tight end at home.

Three-star tight end Tommy Guajardo announced his commitment to Michigan State on Saturday, becomming the second player to join the 2020 class. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound tight end is a native of Dearborn, Mich.

Guajardo made his announcement via Twitter on Saturday morning.

“First off I wanna thank God for blessing me with all this athletic ability and giving me the opportunity to play the sport I love,” Guajardo wrote. “I wanna also thank my loving family for always supporting throughout my process and supporting me through this decision. Without further ado for the next 3-4 years I will be continuing my athletic and academic career at Michigan State University.”

Guajardo joins three-star offensive guard Dallas Fincher in the 2020 class.

Per 247Sports, Guajardo is one of the top 25 tight ends in the 2020 recruiting class and is a top 30 player from the state of Michigan. He chose the Spartans over offers from Indiana, Minnesota, Boston College and Ball State, among others.

Both of Michigan State’s 2020 prospects are Michigan natives, which has been a trend in the Mark Dantonio era. The Spartans have done an excellent job of recruiting their home state and bringing local talent to East Lansing.
