Michigan cornerback and former four-star prospect Benjamin St. Juste is stepping away from football, according to a report.

The Detroit Free Press reported on Friday that St. Juste was medically retiring from the game. It was confirmed by a Michigan football spokesperson.

A redshirt sophomore, St. Juste missed the entire 2018 season due to an injury. The Michigan Insider was the first to report the news with confirmation coming later in the day.

St. Juste was a member of Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class. The Canada native was ranked as the No. 39 cornerback in the class, according to 247Sports. He was listed as one of the top 350 players in the cycle, as well.

In his freshman season in 2017, St. Juste appeared in 12 of Michigan’s 13 games, playing mostly on special teams. He registered three tackles as a Wolverine.
