Devin Bush was the B1G Linebacker and Defensive Player of the Year for a reason. The former Michigan star has an elite skillset and plays the position as well as anyone in the country.
That’s why ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. considers Bush to be one of the top players in the draft.
On Tuesday, Kiper was on a conference call to discuss the draft, which is now just one month away. When asked about the former Wolverines linebacker, Kiper thought Bush could be considered one of the top 10 players available this year.
“He’s one of the top players in this draft,” Kiper said, accoridng to Angelique Chengelis of The Detroit News. “You could argue he’s one of the top 10 players in this draft.”
Bush finished the season with 79 stops, nine tackles for loss and six pass break-ups.
In addition to Bush’s top 10 status, Kiper also chimed in on some other Wolverines who are hoping to make a splash at the NFL level, specifically Chase Winovich and David Long.
Kiper seemed to be impressed with Winovich’s high motor along with his skill set.
“He gives you everything he has,” Kiper said. “I wouldn’t say a lock second-rounder but has an opportunity to be a second-round draft choice.”
Kiper also initially had David Long listed as a fourth-round selection, but following his combine performance, the expert has him penciled into a potential third-round choice.
The NFL Draft kicks off on Thursday, April 25 and ends on Saturday, April 27.
