Malik Barrow has decided to give football another chance.

Last October, the Ohio State defensive tackle announced that he was medically retiring “due to unfortunate circumstances” throughout his career in Columbus. But on Tuesday morning, Barrow announced that he’ll pursue the opportunity to hit the field again, but will be wearing a different uniform.

“Transferring fall 2019 with 2-3 years of eligibility remaining,” Barrow tweeted. “Will be eligible immediately.”

Barrow is a rising junior and will have at least two years of eligibility. He could also petition the NCAA for a sixth season considering his circumstances, which would give him three more years on a college field.

Barrow has suffered two ACL injuries in his career before deciding to retire in 2018. He was a four-star prospect out of high school and was ranked as the No. 32 ranked defensive tackle in the 2016 recruiting class. He played in just two games at Ohio State.
