No Purdue basketball player has ever scored more points in the NCAA Tournament than Carsen Edwards.

During the first half of Purdue’s Sweet Sixteen matchup against Tennessee on Thursday night, Edwards scored 15 points and became the all-time leading scorer in program history during the NCAA Tournament. That first half total put him at 168 points in nine tournament games.

Edwards scored those 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the floor in the first half.

Edwards has been huge for the Boilermakers through the first two round of the NCAA Tournament, dropping 26 against Old Dominion in the opening round and scoring a career-high 42 points two nights later against reigning champ Villanova.

For the season, Edwards averaged 23.6 points per game to lead the B1G in scoring. He shot 38.9 percent for the year.
