Carsen Edwards did it again. In Purdue’s thrilling 99-94 win over Tennessee in the Sweet Sixteen on Thursday, the junior guard joined elite company.
Edwards scored 29 points in the Boilermakers victory over the Volunteers, keeping their championship hopes alive in 2019. It was also the fourth straight game the All-American has scored at least 25 points in an NCAA Tournament game.
He became the first player since Steph Curry to accomplish that feat. Needless to say, Edwards was stunned by that fact and reacted in a pretty appropriate fashion:

Edwards scored a career-high 42 points against Villanova in the Round of 32 last week and opened the tournament with a 26-point outing against Old Dominion. In Purdue’s Sweet Sixteen game against Texas Tech last year, Edwards scored 30.
The Boilermakers dropped that game to the Red Raiders 78-65.
So far this year, Edwards’ big performances have led to Purdue victories. The Boilermakers are headed to the Elite Eight for the first time under head coach Matt Painter and they’re hoping to punch their first ticket to the Final Four since 1980.
