Ohio State is heading into the weekend with a lot of momentum on the recruiting trail.
Friday evening, four-star cornerback Lejond Cavazos re-committed to the Buckeyes. He decided to re-evaluate his options following Urban Meyer’s sudden decision to resign at the end of the 2018 campaign. But Ohio State made a lasting impact on Cavazos and he felt comfortable pledging to Ryan Day.
Cavazos made his announcement in a video he released on Twitter.

Cavazos becomes the eighth player to commit to Ohio State’s 2020 class. He’s one of the top 300 players in the cycle and is listed as the No. 22 safety. An attendee at IMG Academy, Cavazos is also a top 50 player from the state of Florida.
Following Cavazos’ commitment, the Buckeyes maintain the top spot in the B1G with the 2020 recruiting class, and bumps up to No. 6 nationally.
Cavazos’ commitment comes the day before Ohio State takes the field for its annual spring game.
